2015 Eventing season of to a flying start.

Charles (The Candy Man) and Kat (Longwood Alley Diamond) owned by Charlotte West,  have started their 2015 affiliated eventing season well.

With Bruce Haskell, New Zealand 4* rider, and Netherwylde trainer, they have been to two affiliated events so far, at Aston Le Walls and Swalcliffe Park.

Both horses have started at BE90 (intro level) and have both jumped clear cross country both times, and Charles has also jumped two lovely clear show jumping rounds.  Kat has also continued to be very strong in dressage

Addington Winter Regional Championships 2015

Ollie’s first outing of the year was on Valentine’s Day – the Albion Medium Restricted Winter Regional Championship class at Addington Manor EC. A very good fourth place with 65.63% in a relatively large class (the only one being held outside). Good enough for Hartpury?…

New Year, New Wins

Happy New Year to you all – clients, riders, owners and trainers. And of course to all our lovely horses!

Team Netherwylde was off to a flying start with two wins at Bury Farm, defying heavy fog and cold on Sunday 4 January. Samantha Kent and Norbert Marciniec, a Netherwylde employee, both competed in the Novice 38. Sam and Sandfontein C gained 69% and won not only their section (B) but came first overall while Norbert and Radza won section A with over 65% (they came 4th overall). Well done everyone – time to affiliate and get serious.

Keysoe Summer Regional Championships

What a fab day at the College Equestrian Centre, Keysoe. Three combinations from Netherwylde headed to Bedfordshire for a day of some serious competition but also great company, sunshine and fun: Clare Foster & Santos W, Edward Johnson & Arrow and Regula Stricker & Ollie.

Edward and Arrow scored 71.41% and came fourth in the Elementary Open, only just missing out on a direct qualification. Doesn’t really matter as they later picked up a wild card. A solid test resulted in 68.29% and a very good fifth place in the Medium Open. Ollie out-did himself on only his 6th ever Medium (R.) competing at the regionals and won the class with 68.78%. He is just getting better all the time, having also picked up a wild card for coming fifth in the Elementary Open (70.78%). A huge ‘thank you’ to his groom Norbert, trainer Edward and Sam! Next: the LeMieux National Dressage Championships 2014!!!

Regionals here we come…

A recent win at Keysoe with a fantastic 76.25% completed our qualification for the regionals at Elementary level. Ollie’s test felt brilliant, very forward and through to the contact.

Ollie

The 10yo Westphalian gelding by Primeur’s As also delivered some solid tests at Medium level recently, gaining up to 70%. “This is our first season at this level and I am really pleased with how he is  progressing,” says Regula. The pair also qualified for the regionals at Medium level.

Arrow off to a flying start

Netherwylde Associate trainer Edward Johnson and his horse Arrow, an 8yo Dutch Warmblood by Ferro,  have had a fantastic start to their season, winning all 7 of their classes with an average score of 72% qualifying for the regionals at both Elementary and Medium, and the Hickstead Masters final at Medium with a pb of 77%.

Welcome to the Netherwylde blog

Welcome to the newly created Netherwylde blog! We aim to provide information and news from the yard such as clinics (dressage, show jumping) as well as inform our readers about competitions we are attending. Edward is one of Netherwylde’s associate trainers. He trained with Ferdinand Eilberg for a number of years as his Bereiter. He now successfully competes his own horse Arrow (known as Fletcher) and trains several of Netherwylde’s liveries as well as other clients. Regula has been a livery at Netherwylde for over two years. She owns Pimmento (also known as Ollie) and successfully competes him at Elementary level dressage. Shaun is Netherwylde’s yard manager and ensures the day to day running of the yard runs smoothly. His aim: to have the happiest horses in Hertfordshire!
